Thomas Wargin

My sculptures explore the intricate layers of the human condition, weaving together elements of fantasy, memory, and narrative to reveal the inner workings of our subconscious. Using a blend of materials—both organic and industrial—I construct evocative forms that blur the line between the real and the imagined.

Inspired by childhood stories, mythologies, and allegories, my work transforms familiar narratives into surreal, dreamlike compositions. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and embark on a journey into a reimagined world, one that challenges conventional perspectives while evoking curiosity and wonder.

Through dynamic textures, unexpected juxtapositions, and a meticulous attention to detail, I strive to create sculptures that not only engage the senses but also provoke deeper questions about identity, memory, and the stories we carry within ourselves.

After winning a full scholarship and completing a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Industrial Design and Sculpture from The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Thomas continues to explore his sculpting skills and completes every part of the sculptural process from casting and fabricating his metal parts, to forming stones and woodworking. He juxtapos multiple materials to master the balance and thought provoking forms we see today. He has exhibited across the United States as well as in Canada and Japan receiving frequent awards.
